Austria sends a strong team to the first European Job Championship “EuroSkills 2008” » Ing. Stefan Praschl

Transnational cooperation in implementing EQR and the development of NQR: TransEQFrame, EQF-Frame, WAYS » Gastautor
The development of the Austrian National Qualification Standard (NQR) and the implementation of the European Qualification Standards (EQR) should take place in cooperation and exchange of experiences with neighbouring countries, especially with those that have comparable job training and education systems. European projects provide a suitable platform for such cooperations. Three of these projects, having 3s as partner institution, are briefly presented in this article: TransEQFrame, EGF-Frame, and WAYS.

Even though validation of non-formal and informal learning stirs great interest both in Austria and Europe, there is no systematic overview of publications, initiatives and methods that is updated regularly. Therefore, the main target of the network project OBERVAL is to create a database “European Observatory” that boasts extensive information on validation of non-formal and informal learning in the EU member states.
