    The jurors selected five projects from the submitted 50 for the WIFI Trainers Award 2009. The award winners were presented in a ceremony held in Vienna on the 18th June 2009. Three trainers were conferred the High Performance award for their many years of successful trainer activity by WIFI.

  • Invitation to the ECGC closing conference » Dr. Monika Thum-Kraft

    Within the framework of a European project headed by the ibw, the European Career Guidance Certificate - ECGC - has been developed jointly with new partners, which will in the future enable career guidance counsellors to prove compliance with qualitative standards in their training. The ECGC certificate is based on 35 competence standards that were elaborated in the course of the MEVOC project.

    The concept on preparing for entry to the world of work, which had been elaborated and tested for 15 years at the Cooperative Secondary School Brüßlgasse 18 with the Federal Economic Chamber’s IBW and ÖGV, has now been implemented very successfully - linked with the bases of Europass - at three European schools.

  • The NQF in practice by the example of the electronic sector » Mag. Sabine Tritscher-Archan

    The ibw was commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture to conduct a study on the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework on the basis of qualifications obtained in the electronic sector.

    On the one hand, this report covers the different positions and opinions regarding the qualifications’ referencing to levels, on the other it also outlines approaches towards solutions and challenges, which should be taken into account in the future NQF implementation.

  • IVET and CVET trainers in Europe: the first interim results of an online survey » Mag. Silvia Weiß

    Since the launching of the project “Network to Support VET Trainers in Europe” an online survey of the work of IVET and CVET trainers in Europe has been conducted. In the survey, practitioners from a total of 28 European countries have been questioned. Now the first interim results on qualifications, CET and training methods are available.

  • Competence without frontiers » Gastautor

    Comprehensive research activities were conducted in a three-year study implemented by the European Office of the Regional Education Board for Vienna within the framework of the EU-funded project "EdQ - Education Quality". The study aimed to define and categorise those competence areas that are important and necessary for successful work in a cross-border context. The present article includes a summary of the study results.
